PM Modi commences special Parliament session, reflects on 75-year journey and trust of the people     Back

The Special Session of Parliament has commenced with Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiating a discussion in the Lok Sabha on the Parliament's 75-year journey. He emphasized that the Parliament's greatest achievement has been garnering the trust of the people. The Prime Minister highlighted India's advancements in the fields of science, technology, and space exploration, including the success of Chandrayaan-3. He also mentioned the shifting of Parliament to a new building, acknowledging the historic significance of the old building. Prime Minister Modi praised the Parliament's role in resolving long-pending issues and its support for the Bangladesh Liberation movement. He condemned the terror attack on Parliament and paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to protect it.

PM Modi expressed that this special session, though brief, will be marked by significant decisions. He reportedly highlighted the session's speciality as it coincides with the start of a new journey in the new Parliament building, symbolizing the 75 years of India's progress. The Prime Minister urged MPs to devote maximum time to the session with enthusiasm and excitement, emphasizing the goal of making India a developed country by 2047. PM Modi also celebrated India's achievements in international events such as the G20 Summit, where India's role as the voice of the Global South and the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member were noteworthy. He referred to the success of Mission Chandrayaan, noting that it symbolizes national pride and acts as an inspiration for the nation.
