Singapore Market gains 0.56%     Back

The Singapore stock market recouped early losses to finish session in black on Friday, 01 December 2023, on the back of gains in banks, consumer goods, and tech related stocks.

At closing bell, the Straits Times Index (STI) index was up 17.32 points, or 0.56%, to 3,090.31 after trading between 3,077.41 and 3,094.15. Volume of 1.04 billion shares worth S$897.96 million changed hands. Overall market activity showed a balance between gainers and losers with 300 gainers and 273 decliners.

Banking stocks ended the day lower, with shares of DBS Group Holdings adding 0.5% to S$31.90 and United Overseas Bank adding 0.33% to S$27.31, while Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp was up 0.8% to S$12.64.
