Australia stock market finished session on a strong note on Thursday, 30 November 2023, on the back of gains across the sectors, exception being energy and utilities, with shares in industrials, information technology, banks and financials, and consumer staples sectors leading gains.
At closing bell, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index advanced 51.99 points, or 0.74%, to 7,087.33. The broader All Ordinaries index added 51.93 points, or 0.72%, to 7,297.72.
Shares of industrials closed stronger. Transurban Group was up 1%, Brambles rose 2.1%, Computershare finished 1.4% higher, and Qantas advanced 1.9%.
Shares of financials also performed strongly. Commonwealth Bank rallied 1.3%, National Australia Bank was up 1.1%, ANZ lifted 0.8% and Westpac rose 1%. Insurance Australia Group recorded 3.1% rise. Suncorp was up 2.5%.
